Researcher certification consists of an initial certification process and a continuing education program.
Before research can be approved, researchers (and if they are students, their advisors) must complete the on-line module History and Ethical Principles at the web site of the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI).
When you go to the CITI site, be sure to register as a Duke University user, not DCRI or Duke Medical Center.
When you have completed the module and passed the quiz, CITI will notify the IRB office. We will then enter the date you completed the module in your transcript.
If you completed training programs or on-line modules at another institution before coming to Duke, let us know. We may be able to give you credit here.
