Continuing Education Requirements

warning: Parameter 2 to gmap_gmap() expected to be a reference, value given in /var/www/ors/includes/module.inc on line 471.

Continuing education consists of completing one credit of continuing education each year for four years following the year in which initial certification was secured, for a total of five years.

There are two ways to accumulate credits:

  1. On-line tutorials for social and behavioral sciences are worth 1/2 credit.
  2. 60-minute workshops offered by Duke faculty, IRB staff, and guest speakers are worth one credit.

Credits must be earned each year. It is not okay to "bank" credits by completing 8 CITI on-line modules at one time or attending multiple workshops for credit in one year. You are, of course, invited to attend more than one workshop if the topic is of interest to you, but only one workshop per year will count toward your continuing education requirement.
